The Zenzulu™ trademark has received many accolades and awards, including an Elle Decoration International Design Award in 2002.
In 2004 Marisa was selected as a laureate for DESIGN Made in Africa, a two year travelling exhibition of Contemporary African Design.
In 2006 she was invited to design a ceramic dish for the ‘Goood Food’ exhibition for the Saint-Etienne Design Biennale in France. Thanks to collaboration with Fabrica and Bosa Ceramics, based in Italy, she now has a licensing agreement with Bosa, and the ‘Amasumpa’ platter is sold in 107 Rivoli, the design store of the Musee des Arts Decoratives in Paris, and other European design stores.
In 2007 she was approached by Oscar de la Renta and developed a range of accessories for his Spring 2008 show, based on the Zenzulu™ basket designs.
In 2009 she was selected as a South Legend, an exhibition at Design Indaba Cape Town to give recognition to the best contemporary designers and architects in South Africa.
In 2008 she introduced a new range of limited edition sculptural pieces, inspired by natural forms and titled ‘Wired Nature’. “White Jungle platter’ was selected for The State of Things: Design in the 21st Century, the inaugural exhibition of the new Holon Design Museum.
